This was cruise # 11 or so for us. It rated well. It was our first with the unlimited drinks package. Here are the things that we concluded that might be different from the general reviews.
Stockholder benefit. I bought stock (100 shares of Royal Caribbean) to get the discount. It was denied, and not totally clear why. It may have been since we already got perks; drinks paid and gratuities paid, and an on-board credit.
So, stockholders get a discount, sometimes with Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and so far, always with Princess, which is Carnival stock. Both of these purchases, as of today, are worth more than what I paid, so they are better than a money market.
Cabin 9269 -- this was concierge level, which added very little. The evening canapes were fun, as was the welcome bottle of sparkling wine, but the canapes? I drop more food than that when I eat. Fun, and had to be requested daily, and tiny amounts of treat. The "Concierge level" was the cost penalty for a higher deck, which WAS worth the extra cost.
I noticed that later in the year, in Europe, this cabin was not called Concierge. Still, we picked a cabin that was not near a "bump out" where people could look at you. Balcony was small, but had a roof and sides, so it was pretty private. My sister in law was on deck 7 and the lifeboats were part of the view. Deck 6 looked like a "no" choice in our case. If you care about your cabin (they likely are all fine) then 3 or more cabins away from a bump-out should do fine. Our hallway walk was longer than we usually select.
