  3. Norwegian Jewel
Traveled from Utah with 2 cars, 6 kids with ages from 11 to 22, wife and I, we had a wonderful wonderful cruise. Embarkation was quick and smooth - no delays. Total time once we gave our luggage to the peops out front of terminal, to boarding the Jewel, probably 20-30 minutes. WOW! :) Once aboard, everything was easy to find, as we headed straight to the buffet for food. Didn't have to wait for more than an hour or two and could go to our rooms. All luggage showed up to our cabins within the next few hours, but no hurry, since we knew there was a process to be done. Our cabins (4565 & 4567) were just fine, as we knew that with our tight budget for this, it would be cramped. 4 in each room was perfect, because the only time spent in the rooms were to sleep or change. When you're on a cruise, why spend so much time in them, with all the happenings on the ship! :) Bathrooms were nice, shower was bigger than usually. Everything in room worked just fine for it's purpose. Nothing special needed, as rooms were only to sleep in. :) Plenty of activities on board for all ages to participate. All of my kids did what they wanted and could eat wherever just fine. Everything from "camps", to dancing, to karaoke, to sports - all worked out great. The shows on board were top notch. Amazing. The aerobats were superb. The couple was from Russia, and my son speaks Russian, so he visited with them after their show. They were amazing. Comedian was top notch. Magician kept everyone on their toes thinking, while laughing at his humor :). Everything on board was great! We have some picky eaters, so it was nice for them to find what they wanted, with no worries. All meals were great, as we knew going in - expecting that the food wouldn't be perfect, but would satisfy our needs. Did not go to any specialty restaurant, as we can do that at home. Meals were cooked right, and never had to wait too long. All waiters were very helpful in making sure needs were met. No complaints at all! Cabo San Lucas was perfectly fine. Did some shopping, took a tour on a boat to Lover's cove area and saw the sights we wanted to see. Walked around town for a bit, and everyone was very pleasant to speak and work with. Good first stop! Mazatlan was very hectic coming off the vessel as 2-3 other ships were there at the same time. Crazy Crazy. As a group, we decided to do the "blue line walking tour". Basically follow a blue painted line on the streets, that took us to some sights. Made it to the cathedral - just amazing to see - kids loved it. It was crazy busy with all the people, but we felt safe, as we saw many policeman watching over all. Puerto Vallarta was our main purpose in choosing this cruise. My wife and I have done this one before, and loved the excursion we did in PV. So, we wanted the kids to experience it. It was the Extreme Canopy Outdoor Adventure. Highly recommend this. Started off with a fast paced boat ride across the bay for about 30 min. Stopped at a little cove or town and loaded all 8 of us onto an old Army truck, that took us up to "base camp". It was an adventure boat ride - fun/fast. Truck ride was going up steep terrain and seeing little homes and villages on the way for about 20-30 min. Once we made it up there, they fitted us with wetsuit shirts/helmets/and gear, to head out on our trek. The paired each of us up with a mule fit for our personality - hehe. Road them up the mountain trails for about 30 minutes-a lot of fun, and all the kids enjoyed it. Once we made it to the top....we started zip lining down through the rain forest. Beatiful scenery. Zipping into rivers, repelling down water falls, and waterslide at the end. Just amazing amazing! Again...HIGHLY RECOMMEND this excursion. The staff on board were amazing. From the "camp directors" taking care of my kids, to the food staff, and cruise entertainment. Our room service was perfect. We are simple people and don't expect or require much, but they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of in every way. Disembarkation was a breeze. Maybe 20 min total. We walked off with our luggage on our own. Just had to wait in a line for a few, to get off the ship, but Customs was a breeze. Nice Nice! Great trip, Great ship, great everything! Thank you NCL!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside
Cabin IE 4565
Perfect for what we needed. We had 4 in each room. Our other rooms was 4567, and they were the only two down it's own little hallway. Midship. Deck 4. Inside. No problems whatsoever. Quiet and we slept just perfect. :)
