My wife and I travelled on the Azura mid September for 2 weeks to the western Mediterranean, this was our first cruise. We read all of the reviews beforehand, so knew roughly what to expect. The Azura surpassed our expectations. Boarding and check in was stress free, we dropped our bags off at a point outside the terminal and did not see them until again until we got to our cabin. The ship was very clean and modern, very well laid out and easy to navigate your way around. The assortment of bars and entertainment places were excellent as were the restaurants. We chose club dining in the Oriental restaurant and had great a la carte 5 course meals every evening. We shared our table each evening with 3 very nice couples and had a very enjoyable time with them each evening. The buffet restaurants were excellent with a great choice of great food, especially at breakfast time. All of the staff onboard were very polite and helpful especially in the Oriental. Our cabin on deck E was spacious, clean, very comfortable and well equipped, the cabin attendant looked after us very well and was always available if we needed him.

The entertainment on board was fantastic, something for everyone, West End type shows in the theatre, excellent. Groups, singers, and comedians also on the theatre and in the bars. If you just want a quiet drink and to relax, there are a number of comfortable places where you can do just that. There are 2 cinemas onboard, 1 huge screen on the deck by the swimming pool. Bingo and dance classes are available if they are the sort of things you wish to do. We went on 2 excursions while berthed in Italy, we visited Florence and Pisa on one day and next day did a highlights tour of Rome, great days out but very fast paced and very tiring. At the other ports we just stayed in the area and strolled around, all were very beautiful places.

Disembarkation went like clockwork, very well organised, stress free.
