We are a family of 4 sailing on the Escape December 12, 2015. We have read less than stellar reviews and honestly cannot understand these reviews. First to clarify we have sailed 19 times on NCL, Royal Caribbean and Princess and feel we can make appropriate and accurate reviews. This was an awesome cruise with awesome staff and officers!
1. Arrival at the port at 1230 and on board in less than 45 minutes. They key here is be prepared with documents etc. We did take the cabin upgrade the Thursday before and the new stateroom was not reflected in our portfolio - NOT A PROBLEM - the issue was fixed quickly with the complete attention of the Hotel Manager Errol Nelson. He was professional and caring - a great asset to NCL!
2. Our mini suite was spacious. Complaints of lack of storage we found not to true. The key again is be prepared. Don't pack for a month long excursion - it is a SEVEN day cruise in warm weather. A great option was on day 3 we were left a note that all of the dirty laundry you could place in a bag would blundered for 19.95. a great deal!
Clean, pillows and bedding very comfortable, heat and air world great. huge bathroom, double sink and a shower for two. Plenty of storage. Shower gel, shampoo and hand wash on the wall dispensers. Great hairdryer - don't bring your own - they discourage their use as some brought on board caused electrical issues due to age and volts. Thick towels and washcloths. Bathrobes. Attentive cabin steward most appreciative of the extra tip at the beginning of the cruise.
Did the beach and city loop. As we had 730PM flights it was a great way to spend the day. Grabbed lunch and souvenirs at Bayside Market before boarding the bus to FLL. The last shuttle bus left for FLL at 2PM - we wished it was a bit later.
This was the Champagne Catamaran - great crew, nice snack, warm clear water snorkeling - watch for turtles!
WOW - a rock climb in and out of the volcanic rock formations, beautiful beaches. Be prepared - shoes or water shoes as some of the rocks have edges. Underwater camera a must. This is a once in a lifetime experience. We were ages 38-70 as it is a level Three activity level.
