I have been on 10+ cruises on various lines but this was my first and LAST on NCL. We arrived to find pubic hair on our stateroom toilet. Lovely... I tried to be optimistic but that set the tone for the rest of the week.
From there our room and steward situation only got worse. She was morose, unfriendly, and acted put out all the time. Towels, lotions, soap and toilet paper were continuously NOT restocked and we had to call down for them all the time. We called down one night for a clothes iron for my husband's shirt and it took OVER AN HOUR and 4 different calls to the service desk to get one delivered. We were consequently late for our dinner reservation. That level of service is unacceptable, and I have experienced so much better on other lines.
On the 5th night I came back to our room to find that someone had STOLEN my medication. I kept them all lined up on the night table in precise order. My husband an I tore that room apart looking for the meds, but they were gone. It's not inconceivable that I would lose an item, but I am METICULOUS with my meds as they are so important for me and my health so I know that I didn't lose it and left it on the night table with the other bottles. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and contacted the desk to see if they maybe had found my meds in the laundry in a pile of sheets or towels. They said they would not contact the steward to ask until she came back on duty several hours later, and ignored my need to take the medication promptly. I had to spend an entire day missing my shore excursion that I paid $$$ for, and instead had to go to a pharmacy, call my doctor in the states and try to get a refill sent to me. The front desk said they would not return my shore excursion fee even though I had to miss it, and they were very dismissive and snide about my problem. They would also not assign a new/different steward to my room. For the rest of the trip the steward gave us nasty looks and scowls and we kept our "Do Not Disturb" sign up as much as we could.
