This was our second cruise with Holland America. We have cruised on Princess, Carnival, and Celebrity. The ship was fine. It was very clean and the staff were excellent. We had an aft facing cabin on deck 7 which was really nice, and our cabin stewards were great.

Why I say it was just okay was there was nothing spectacular about this sailing with the exception of the group that played in the BB King show . They were fantastic. The other entertainment we found boring and the stage productions just not as good as on other ships.

The food in the dining room was very good to excellent, and our waiters were excellent. The food at the buffet was okay, but often the hot items were barely warm or cold especially at breakfast. We ended up going to breakfast in the dining room and the food was much better there. The wines were not good, and as on most ships they are of poor quality and over priced. Although the wine steward on this ship was knowledgeable and a very pleasant fellow. We take about 3 cruises a year and lately I am finding the food on most of the cruise lines has gone down in quality and preparation. Read more
