Over all the Norwegian Star is an excellent Ship The crew was very good and friendly. Food was excellent and entertainment was excellent. Cabin was clean and in excellent condition and temperature control was good The TV had a different current movie on every day. The music groups were good and the stage production staff was of the highest caliber. Our favorite music group was the Melodic Trio never tired of listening to them. The excursions available on the Star out of Tampa looked very interesting for active people. We took the limited mobility tour on Roatan Honduras. We saw a lot of the island and sampled the best rum cake ever. The guide could have known more about the history of the island and the engine on the bus didn't sound like it was going to make it but it did Overall we enjoyed the tour and the longest walk was to the bus from the ship.
One thing we did not like about the ship was that the seating in the main theater was uncomfortable. The seats were over stuffed and tilted downward so you tended to slide off. To look at these seats you would think they were brand new but were not pleasant to sit in. One other thing we did not like was that the seating in the Garden Buffet was boring looked just like a high school cafeteria. One last thing we did not like was that the top deck viewing area was converted to villas ...great for a few.. bad for everyone else. Would not take this ship on Alaskan cruise as there is no sheltered forward looking viewing area.
Liked the cabin very much . Bring power strip as there is only one outlet that we could find.
Fair Development and shopping. Had a nice swimming pool there as I recall the beach was mostly coral. It was modern and clean. Looked like interesting shore excursions were available.
Amazing shopping port . The Star had the best docking situation. .no taxi needed. Crystal clear water for the swimming and diving people.
