This is a rather long review, but I hope it will give you a lot of useful details.

We sailed out of New Orleans on the Norwegian Dawn on Dec. 6, 2015. This was my 5th cruise on Norwegian, and I have also cruised on Carnival, Costa, and a riverboat. Before our trip, I spent hours reading reviews about the Dawn and started to get a little worried about all of the negative things that I was reading. Since it had been 7 years since I was last on Norwegian, I began to wonder if things had really changed so drastically from my previous wonderful experiences. Well, don't let all of the disgruntled remarks get to you! We had a wonderful time.

We boarded the ship at about 3:30 pm. We went straight to our room which was all ready for us, and our luggage arrived less than 15 minutes later. We met our cabin steward, Riccardo, as we were entering the room. He had a brilliant smile and a super friendly attitude. During the whole week, Riccardo was helpful and accommodated our every need. Every other Norwegian employee that we encountered also greeted us with a smile and a "Hello" or "How is your day?"

Cabin OB

Our cabin was in a great location. We were only about 150 feet from the mid-ship elevator and one stair flight up to Aqua. The bed was pretty firm, but I got used to it after a day or so and slept well the whole trip. There is plenty of storage space. My husband and I brought way too much luggage, but we had plenty of room for everything with three shelves and a desk drawer left over to store souvenirs that we bought. We had two bedside tables and wide window sill to set personal items on. The bathroom is a nice size and does not feel cramped or crowded. Make sure you close the bathroom door or the steam will set off the smoke detector and you will get a visit from the emergency crew! The only thing in the room that I would like to see improved upon is the space between the left side of the bed (as you are facing it) and the vanity table. There is less than 6" of space between the two corners and it is pretty tight to fit through. The cabin was quiet the majority of the time with only faint noises from the cabin next door once in awhile. Overall, it was a great location and we were very pleased with it.
