Having cruised on the Jewel and the Pearl we were keen to try the new ship. First impression, we liked the decor, reminded us of boutique hotel style. There always seemed to be a lounge to chill in with something going on in it. The outdoor areas were good, with an array of comfy deck chairs, lounges tables and chairs. The retractable roof over the main pool is a good idea in inclement weather but a bit of a sauna in the muggy heat. The Dome is large and a nice area as well. The Marquee is smaller than the other ships, and there is a cinema on the Eden with 3 movies each day. The Waterfront restaurant is nicely decorated as well. Our cabin was adequate, but there was no fridge (ocean view deck 5) the bed was super comfy, nice pillows. Don't know how the shower in the bath would go in rough seas as it is very narrow, not much room to brace yourself. People with mobility issues would find it very difficult to get in and out of the shower..

Food was ok... I don't like the new Pantry idea.. Queue for your cereal to then queue for your toast to then queue for your eggs or beans, then queue for some fruit.. Phew.... Same with lunch, fish, salad, roll, all on different lines... The food was rarely hot, especially the roasts, we stuck to fish and chips.... No bookings taken for Waterfront anymore so you queued for a pager then went off for a drink somewhere.... Angelos Italian was nice but I heard complaints that the Dragon Lady servings were tiny and people topped up in the Pantry.. I felt the standard of food in the Waterfront has gone down from previous cruises..

Tendering to the islands was efficient, embarkation and disembarkation was smooth. White Bay is a pain to get to but P&O had a bus service to Central station for $15. So as 50 somethings I felt P&O are catering more for the younger set.. Don't think we would do another, might try Princess, I think too many corners are being cut to keep fares low..
