Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Just good for a standard Balcony (seaside / outside) room.

Just terrible beds.

Due to the missing of any kind of suspension in the beds ‘foundation’ actually you have a (bad & low) matrass lying on literally a fixed, flat steel plate. Killing for people with back issues (really, just a couple of nights you are ‘broken’).

The only very limited relieve is an extra foam layer put under the matrass by the room attendant.

Port Reviews

Labadee

Labadee/Haiti is a secluded/private owned & (‘custom made’) beaches of Royal Caribbean Cruises (just as the ‘Red’ Beach is on Jamaica). Well kept & nice looking; but you see nothing of the (real) Haiti. There are no nice snorkeling areas (reachable from the beach). But available are costly attractions and the limited parts where you are allowed to swim is for the main part the sea badly accessible due to an abundance of broken and razor sharp coral and rocks on the beach but mainly in the water. Good water shoes are a necessity. The nice & ‘real’ BBQ is only for ‘Gold’; ‘Silver’& ‘Crown & Anchor’ member on their own even more private part of the beach. The rest has to sit down in a big buffet beach hut ‘enjoying’ the pre-cooked ‘BBQ’ food buffet which is even less tasty as the bad food on board…

Falmouth

There is nothing recommendable in Falmouth. Just expensive probably by Caribbean Cruise Lines owned shops direct at the pier and more cheaper (after extensive bargaining) local shops after the pier. For the rest Falmouth is a dirty; chaotic & crowded not seeing worthy little town.

The real good thing that here we organized our own excursion with our own private taxi. Make sure you negotiate extensively, and make sure the taxi driver is told the agreed prices clearly an does accept it. Make sure visiting an by the taxi driver 'advised' store is not part of the deal. Make sure that you will be back on time (agree on 1 hour back at the port before ships departure again).

Had a great day at the Blue hole (little touristic) and Dunn's River Falls (very touristic & crowded).
