This was our 8th cruise, 3rd on Princess. We flew to LA the day before the cruise and stayed in at Wingate hotel near LAX. From reading recommendations on this website, we chose Karmel Shuttle to/from the port and were very pleased with their service.

Embarkation went smoothly, the usual waits at various stages. Once onboard we were told the cabins weren't all ready but we were invited to leave our carryons in our cabins then go to lunch. We had cabin B223, Baja Deck balcony. We were pleased with the condition and ongoing servicing from our cabin steward.

We had early fixed seating dinner and were surprised to learn we were in the Da Vinci dining room which is listed as Anytime Dining. It was Anytime, but only after 7:15pm. Our waiter had an assistant-in-training which caused some minor issues but improved as the week went on. We thought the dinners were almost all excellent quality.

Baja deck, forward starboard. Average size, quiet, away from elevators. Shampoo & body wash in dispensers, plus bar soap and tube of lotion. The bed was the most comfortable we've had on a cruise. It had the egg crate topper already on it, we didn't have to request one. One electrical outlet by desk, one in bathroom.
