After cruises on a couple of other cruise lines, I came back (with my grown daughter) for a Royal Caribbean cruise after 6 years. I must say that I was extremely disappointed with all of the (presumed) cost cutting measure I saw on the Liberty of the Seas.
The Embarkation process was fine, waiting to board was done in a large temporary area with little difference between loyalty levels. Once aboard the ship, we headed to the Windjammer for the usual lunch buffet. Odd - no fancy carved fruit or ice sculptures in the entrance. Once in the buffet, it was the usual madhouse trying to get a seat. Upon getting my food, I noticed a certain lack of quality in my meal. Nothing tasted particularly good, undercooked pasta, etc. Oh well, I knew it would be better in the Main Dining Room for dinner.
Our promenade cabin was quite acceptable, a little small but some good organization made up for it. As we both were familiar with this cabin type, it was not a letdown. Our cabin attendant Nicole was a joy though out the whole cruise.
