love tampa..but when you are locked in the cruise ship at port..they d not let you out.

i have been to Roatan twice before this year and hated it...because i did no research and carnival docks at a different port..mahogany bay.

this time..i took a taxi to the infinity resort and it was wonderful.very high end.

25 bucks per person for the use of the private beach and the deluxe pool.worth every cent.

make advance reservations as they cannot guarantee cruise passenger day passes/

cruise tour group was next door on on the same beach crowded into a tiny area....the part i was on was almost empty..it was wonderful.

also make arrangements at port after you pass the crowd to get a taxi tour guide for the day a bargain at about 40 plus tip.

I went on my own to the man made beach called old Belize..

not going into details...it was not worth it...do not go to old Belize.

best bet is to take a taxi for 2.00 each to the start of the beach strip and work your way down taking the best offer to sit in the section of beach that the steerers offer.

they will give yu a free chair and a drink to get you to come to their section...

about 15 for a taxi depending on what port you arrive in and its a lovely upscale bargain.55 for the day [50 if you book online in advance]

and it includes all drinks and food.

waiter service food off a menu not a cheap buffet.

the waiters are very attentive and you get your own little private section.lovely.

Cozumel is also wonderful for souvenir shopping..satay way form the cooked jewelry stores and bargain hunt for woven blankets, pareo wraps and cowboy hats.
