We left Michigan and its freezing winter behind on Saturday morning and headed for San Juan. We arrived a day early for our cruise and spent the night at the Comfort Inn. The hotel was decent, nothing spectacular, but adequate. We ate at Chilli's and I wouldn't recommend that place. It took us about two hours for dinner - the service was awful.
We arrived at the pier about noon the next morning. The boarding process was painless and we were off to the buffet. Our rooms were ready promptly at 2:00 and we met our room steward, George, who was a lot of fun. We had a balcony room, 7590. That was our first balcony room after ten previous cruises. I can't imagine ever sailing again and not having a balcony. It was wonderful. The room was quite large by cruise standards and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The first day was at sea and we spent most of the day exploring the ship, working on our tans and trying to keep our kids in line. We figured out the ship and got our tans, but never did succeed and keeping the kids in line.
One of the nicest cabins that we're ever had on a cruise. The bed was extremely comfortable. The balcony was nice. Plenty of storage. Nice shower and bathroom.
