-Overall the food was quite good and the balcony cabin was worth the extra cost. The best specialty dining was the Crab Shack, which opens only 3 nights on the cruise. Outstanding value, with unlimited king crab and large shrimp (we never got past the original seven huge legs, but some people did). The comedians were generally good and the dance shows were average. But someone PLEASE tell the entertainment director that the MOTOR CITY show is a disaster. It's like watching Lawrence Welk imitate Motown. Awful.
You have to use the ship's tours in Panama, but if you're looking at Limon, consider a local tour. We used Oscar Brown Tours, saved $75 per person on exactly the same itinerary (Veragua Rainforest aerial tram tram and Tortuguero Canal) and were back at the pier by 2:30 with plenty of time to shop, while the ship's tours rolled into port at the last minute and forced the ship to depart 45 minutes late. One last note: the anytime dining option is usually our choice, but this ship doesn't handle it very well, causing up to 2 hour waits. We finally went to the fixed time restaurant for the remainder of the cruise and were very satisfied.
