Carnival Ectasy is old, and has seen better days. The décor is dated, and it does not have a lot of the amenities of most of the other ships. This was my 5th cruise on Carnival, and the only one where I was less then impressed. Food was mediocre, room service menu minimal, buffet was not kept very hot, and the service was slow to replace items. The main dining room was very good; however, no lobster on a 5 day cruise!!!!!!
The entertainment was adequate, and there is certainly a lot to do on board. FYI, the balcony seats (other then first row) suck. You sit too low to see, and posts block your view of the stage.
I found that Carnival is starting to charge for everything. Want wings ($5). Want better coffee ($6). Want a decent steak ($20).
The cabin was falling apart. Difficult to control scolding shower water; TV view is obstructed from one of the bunk beds, and the announcements cannot be heard in the rooms. The sauna and steam room were not working, and are small.
This is truly now a low-budget, pay if you want good service, cruise-line.
Cabin was falling apart. Shower head difficult to adjust. TV view obstructed from one bunk bed. Closet was missing pieces.
Booked excursion in port with a tour service. It was less then half the price of Carnival's excursion, and included sight seeing, beach stop, and tequilla tour/tasting. There are vans waiting for group tours just outside port shopping area. Paid $25 per person for 3 hours, and it was great!
View All undefined undefined ReviewsBeen to Key West. We just wondered around port. There are some historical sights close by such as the Truman White House. Only on port for a VERY SHORT time on the Miami, Key West, Cozumel itinerary.
