This was our first time cruising with Royal Caribbean we have sailed on other cruise lines in the past the last one was 2013 with Carnival. So this is what we compared it against. Once we arrived in the terminal in Hong Kong and went to check in there was confusion about needing visas to visit the Island of Sanya, China. I had taken a picture on of the information on the RCI website stating no need for a visa so getting onboard the ship was no problem. We waited our turn and my daughters and I walked around the shops inside the terminal and I had a glass of wine while over looking the gorgeous view of Hong Kong. Getting on board was hassle free, we arrived at our rooms and my husband and I had surprised out daughters with room decorations which were set up as arranged. Champagne and Strawberries awaited us in our room. Once on board my daughter disabled her room key.

While waiting in line to fix this I heard the ship was requiring excursions to get off the boat in China if you didn't have a visa. So I asked staff member who was talking to guests while waiting in line for front desk help his name was Christopher. He confirmed that was the case. Then once I arrived at the front desk I spoke with Alfredo who also confirmed the need for visas I showed him the picture of the website and still booked because we wanted to see china. I also told Alfredo of some issues I had with booking initially. Alfredo refunded the excursion for us and others who did not want them as there was lots of confusion on this with other passengers too. He also was more than helpful in making sure the rest of our cruise was pleasant.

Stephen at the R Bar and the whole Schooner bar staff was AMAZING. The cruise director staff was phenomenal! We played trivia every day, and did the scavenger hunts. The dining staff was overly accommodating. We were not initially scheduled to sit with our daughters or friends, and they put us at a table together on night one! It was a bit small but once I spoke to the staff that was corrected the next night. The food was not what we were used to on other cruise lines, it was below what we expected. the only 24 our restaurant served what seemed to be frozen pizza and cold cut sandwiches. Other than that we had a fabulous time! There was so much going on, so many shows, competitions, parades, karaoke......all in all our family had a great time and went to so many countries. Very memorable.

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin H

Cabins were neat and tidy everyday. There were bathroom issues in both rooms that the staff did not make us aware of.

Port Reviews

Hong Kong

We spent two night in Hong Kong before boarding the Voyage. Went to Hong Kong Disney which was fabulous! hardly any lines. If you've been to Disney World you know that is NEVER the case. Wonderful. We also went to the Ladies market and ate dim sum in the city fabulous time!

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

We booked out own tour through recommendations of a friend. I highly recommend Zoom tours. Zoom picked us up and took us to the top of the Rex hotel for iced Vietnamese coffee, and a gorgeous view of the city. We then went to a temple and was given the history on it, toured more of the city, ate at pho noodle 2000, went to the Benh Thanh Market, War Museum, Palace, Church, and the Lacquer Factory.

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

Booked our own tour not with the cruise line through Expat Holiday tours. We were picked up at the port and went and swam with the dolphins, saw a dolphin show, went to the floating market, and rode elephants and the Pattaya Elephant Village. Then we took a private car (outside the port gate) after negotiating a price the adults went to downtown Pattaya for dinner and walking. The next Day we went back into Pattaya to ride go carts that went 70km per hour, shop, and get Thai Massage.
