I have cruised many lines - mostly Royal Caribbean, and Princess and once on Cunard. This cruise on NCL was my second attempt and while it was fine, I probably will stick with other cruise lines.
High points - I went on this cruise for a few reasons - reasonable cost for 10 nights, the warm weather and the gym. The gym was well equipped and I really liked the classes I took from the one trainer, Emile. The separate room for the yoga and pilates was nice and it was relatively quiet. The gym was generally too loud for me, I like to listen to my own music, and their speakers were to loud to let me use my ipod. The ship was in good condition, and they did freshen up the common areas, looked like all new carpet. Food had numerous healthy options almost every day - my favorite - steamed veggies were available always, even at breakfast. The young man who serviced my cabin was very nice and keep the unit spotless. Getting on and off the ship was very smooth with little delays. I had a few meals in the main dinning room and food was hot and prepared to order.
Low points - beds were dismal - both beds in my room had a sunken middle where it seemed like they had a 250 lbs ball stored. They did replace both mattresses and put an extra foam topper on them when I asked, which was appreciated. Library was noisy, with game room next door, and people using the computers in the library. At least more to silent keyboards. Book selection was below average.
