This was our 5th cruise with Princess and our first on the Grand Princess, departing January 30th. We had done 7 and 10 days before but this was our first 14 day cruise.

Embarkation was a piece of cake. We traveled down to Ft Lauderdale the previous day and stayed on Las Olas Boulevard which as LOADS of restaurants and bars and had a very nice steak meal at the restaurant connected to Riverside Hotel which is where we stayed. We made our own arrangements for hotel and transfer to the ship. We arrived for embarkation at about 1.45 and were on board with rooms ready by 2.15!

We met Michael, our room steward and he gave great service for the 14 days. He got used to our routine, always had fresh ice for us and fresh towels morning and evening and everything was always clean and tidy and he knew our names almost immediately.

Cabin Review

The closet was small but we got everything in without a problem, which for a 14 day cruise was pretty good! Drawer space is at a premium but with a bit of organizing, can be done. We took some suction hooks with us (stole this idea from another CC member - great idea) which were great for swimsuits/cover-ups etc. We were on the right side of the ship which always seemed to be the 'wrong' side but not a problem really. Thought being near elevator would be a noisy problem but it was not.
