Our short cruise to Cozumel was a family affair, with 25 of us from age 3 to 68 aboard. Embarkation was pretty smooth for a fully booked 150,000 ton ship. The service was very cordial and efficient with quick cabin cleanings twice a day.
The food was unspectacular, which is getting to be the norm nowdays on the mega lines. The only dinner options besides the dining room and Windjammer Cafe are a $35 p.p. Chops, or $25 p.p. Giovanni's specialty restaurants. Or Johnny Rocket's if you'll settle for hamburgers for dinner. The Windjammer got pretty boring after daily breakfasts and lunches and one night's dinner.
I guess it's no one's fault but we were constantly dodging people in the dining rooms, on the Promenade and at the pools. It was a Thanksgiving cruise and with 3600 passengers, well...the kids loved that we had the biggest ship we encountered.
Nice cabin with a good sized balcony. We were next door to relatives so we had the cabin attendant unlock the partition and formed a giant balcony. We were almost all the way forward and all the dining and sports activities are aft so there's lots of walking.
We jumped in a taxi and spent the day at Paradise Beach Club. Preview the dozen or so beach clubs online for the one that suits you best. This one was large with a beautiful pool and inflatables for the kids. Non existent snorkeling and crowded in the afternoon but it worked for our family.
