We sailed on the Celebrity Equinox Ultimate Caribbean Cruise on November 9, 2015. This was our first cruise on Celebrity, we have taken about 20 cruises, but mostly on Princess so I will point out some differences, overall, we loved the Equinox.

We flew to FLL on Sunday, November 8 as we ALWAYS go at least a day early, you never know what can happen and we don’t want to even think of missing the ship!! But what a treat we had, we met Grace and Greg, a couple we met with and cruised the year before on the Royal Princess for dinner that night at the hotel. We stayed at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale at Dania Beach, which is where we normally stay pre-cruise.

The next day, we got up, went to breakfast and headed to the ship; there was an additional $10 shuttle fee per person which was not a big deal, but it used to be complimentary. As the Equinox had a coast guard inspection that day we were asked to come after noon, we went at noon and got on the ship without any problems. One thing that I noticed that was different is they take your picture when you check-in, and you are not subjected to having an embarkation picture taken, which I really liked. The rooms were not ready yet, so we explored a new ship. The Equinox is a beautiful ship, some folks we met on a cruise in 2011 invited us on this cruise, and it was a great deal. A very generous OBC, the classic drink package, and gratuities were included. One of the first things we did was upgrade the drink package, if you drink even one martini a day it is worth it.
