We traveled with our two adult children on the Thanksgiving cruise. They had an interior stateroom and we splurged with a Central Park view with balcony. The rooms were just as we expected having cruised with Royal in the past on Mariner of the seas. There was so much to do and see on this ship we never had a dull moment while onboard. We never felt at all crowded unless we were watching the parade or other high draw activity onboard which is to be expected on any ship. Always plenty of chairs available at pool areas even on sea days.
We were smart and pre booked all our shows and a couple dinners months in advance and never had to wait for seating for iether. The shows were very good, Mama Mia wasn't what I was expecting. Kind of wish they kept Chicago on instead. The Aqua show was very good and the ice show was spectacular! Our headliner was a vantriloquist who didn't have his dummies (they were lost by the airline!!!) He improvised but would have been better if he was prepared. Blue Planet wasn't my cup of tea but the wife liked it.
The service of the staff did not disappoint! Our room steward always kept ice bucket full and room spectacular, (room 10613) I have to give a shout out to my "friends" at the boardwalk bar who always had my drink ready before I got to the bar as well as the bar tenders at the pool bars and in Sorentos. By the way, Sorentos almost never had many people waiting for a drink so a great place to go if you're in a hurry!
