Let me start by saying this is my 3rd Norwegian cruise and definitely the most disappointing. The ship is large with a good amount of activities and restaurants which is the only thing I found nice about it. My balcony room was very nice, good size and set up. It is overcrowded. It feels very pedestrian and you will constantly be fighting a crowd. The atrium area is where they decided to put on most games and entertainment however this is the same area as guest service. I mean, what were they thinking with this annoying set up? It's just horrible. First off, the casino takes up practically the entire 7th floor. Not just that but there is an open balcony to the 6th and 8th floor where there are restaurants, hallways, bars, etc. All filled with the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the casino. So if you don't wish to gamble and smoke you still have to suffer through the stench of those floors being subject to all the smoking in the casino. Secondly, the some of the staff was not all that friendly and very slow. As the other posts, you are looking at 20 minutes to wait to even order your food. The hostesses sometimes look annoyed that you are even there. You are charged for soft drinks even if you have the beverage package. You are charged to go to some shows, you have to reserve every show because they made the venues smaller as well as the theater. I guess to make more room for the enormous casino. The pool has only a handful of chairs that are in the sun while 98% are in covered areas. So you are going to the top deck if you want sun but have to walk through large crowds and down the stairs to take a quick dip in the tiny pool. There is wasted space called the "marketplace" next to the pool where absolutely nothing went on. This could have been laid out better with more chairs in the sun and lose the marketplace. The shows, "burn the floor" and "jungle cirque" were very good while "rock of ages" was kitschy and should be replaced with a better show that would appeal to the masses as opposed to a tasteless crowd of teenagers. I've been on other ships and they had acapella groups, acrobats, etc, and really enjoyed it. I didn't like the fact that the main party/club area was only outdoors. In other ships, the cafe has an open outdoor area so you can have breakfast outside while he main party lounge was indoors. So what happened, it was windy or rainy and so the parties at Spice H20 were mostly empty or cancelled due to weather. I'd much rather they just keep the lounge as a closed area so we can party no matter the weather and let me enjoy breakfast and lunch outdoors.
