Having done two previous cruises on the Jewel we were interested to see how they would compare. We can't fault the Epic on many things, and their staff as always were lovely and extremely helpful but we prefer the layout and the feel of the Jewel.
The room layout was not an issue for us, we had 8048 and we never felt the walk through bathroom was a problem. The size of the room was very good (it is a mini-suite) and you did not feel enclosed even though there was 3 of us in there. As previously mentioned by many there is so much storage that you can easily store all your stuff, in fact there was so much we couldn't use it all.
Food wise my husband and I went for the dining package while my mother and son used the garden cafe, having seen the food in the cafe I think next time we will save our money. The updated version of their pizzeria was ok, but we preferred the rustic version that used to be on the Jewel. Cagneys as usual was lovely, the Moderno has improved since we went in the Jewels on the first night they opened it. Le Bistro has never done anything for me, and unfortunately I still feel the same. We tried the Teppanyaki for the first time after never getting around to it on the Jewel but always wanting to, and we loved it. It is one we will definitely do again. Unfortunately they have changed the menu in the Chinese and the ribs I was looking forward to have been removed... All I can say is they should bring them back! We had the fish in O'Sheehans one night, I admit living near the coast in the UK I am spoilt but we did not like the fish. However, food was always plentiful, and service great. The reservations unfortunately now need to be done at the start of the week or you will eat very early or late.
Wet and rainy but the guide was helpful and informative and it wasn't his fault we were drenched!
Very helpful guide on the coach, clear and informative.
We walked to the shops, good covered market in the centre but we didn't do much there through choice.
