Our fifth cruise and First cruise with Celebrity. We were looking forward to an awe inspiring cruise, fill of fun, activities, quality entertainment, what we found was a very uninspiring and rather dull cruise. I feel that the age demographics of this cruise (with the majority (80%) of guests being 65+) may have been a contributing factor in our boring cruise, as it seemed the daily activities and entertainment was directed toward the more sedate guests. Another disappointing factor was that many of the activities had a fee attached to them. We would have loved to joined in with yoga, fitness, martini making, cooking classes etc but couldn't justify the extra cost. It would have been nice to have sat in the Theatre and watched movies with more regularity than what was offered (twice in 15 days).
There was plenty of Tournaments at the Casino (most also at a charge), it was evident that the Casino was by far the BIGGEST money-maker onboard.
ENTERTAINMENT.
Plenty of room for two of us. Under ex storage for cases and enough wardrobe and drawers for our clothes. We packed extra hangers which we used. Large enough Balcony with comfy outdoor set. Bed was comfy enough although husband did not sleep too well. Bathroom was good enough size with plenty of cupboard space.
It was nice to get off the ship and stretch the legs in this quaint seaside township. Plenty of shopping, souvenirs, bars and cafes. Cobbled streets give it a little more dimension. A clean and friendly place.
Got a Taxi with another couple which whizzed up through the volcanic outback, wineries etc. Driver was very helpful and showed us a little more of the countryside not normally visited by the shore excursions see. Great way to see this interesting place.
Hop on... Hop off bus is a great way to see this beautiful city and you learn much history on Tenerife. We were fit enough to walk to the city centre from the port 3.5km. Otherwise there were free shuttles to the city centre.
