Perhaps expecting too much but what a let down. Transatlantic flight good apart from headwinds extending time by 2 hrs. Miami airport and security a disaster one and three quarters hours to get through. Shambles loading bus to Hotel. again long delay. very few celebrity staff to assist. Courtyard Hotel Miami airport good but plans to visit downtown Miami out of question due to delays. Coach pick up following morning again a disaster. No Celebrity staff to assist and drivers of numerous coaches unable to assist with our previous arranged transfer to ship. Loaded onto a coach with 28 others along with luggage then told wrong coach. Total chaos. eventually correct coach arrived and conveyed to ship where actual embarkation was acceptable. But how many times to check passports. since arriving in Miami had already lost count.

extremely relieved to be on board and first impressions were that the ship was beautiful. Immediately dined in Ocean view buffet and variety of food was excellent. Staff very good but food was warm to say the least. Plates were cold so by time sat down food was cold. this remained the case unless you had freshly cooked eggs omelette etc. Our cabin 9107 on deck 9 was superb . Large with superb bathroom and large balcony. 10 out of 10 there. Freedom dining turned out to be dissapointing as we were unable to build up a rapour with table staff. Gained the impression that as they knew you would not meet again they were somewhat disinterested. Food choice very dissapointing and after first night had to ask for food to be served hot. One evening had to leave 2 main dishes I tried as they were overcooked and tough. Service was slow and had to leave on 2 occasion before having dessert as otherwise we would have missed theatre show.

Formal nights have been relaxed but surely a more stringent policy should be adopted at least in the main dining room. Jeans and open necked shirts not acceptable even for majority American travellers. Expected a bit more glitz. Falls short of RCI or P &O standards. Overall dining experience very dissapointing. Theatre shows were very good but apart from Theatre and a very average 3 piece band in central Atrium there was nothing else unless you wanted to shop shop shop. Grass area on deck empty due to ridiculous pricing as was spa areas.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Once again we had planned to do our own walking tour of old town but ship did no dock until 5pm 2 hours later than scheduled. after 6 pm before we got ashore by which time it was darkand curtailed our trip. Ship sailed at 10 pm.. very dissapointing.

St. Maarten

Excellent Island tour . forget the company or driver but trip was well worth it. mixture of shopping an hour at beach the Mayo beach to see the planes was brilliant.

St. Thomas

Brilliant Island tour with Elvis who had us singing and nearly dancing all the way. well worth it.
