We just returned from a 5 day cruise to the Western Caribbean and was very.disappointed. We were 2 adults and our kids, 25 yr old twins and a 23 yr old so we got a balcony and an inside cabinsvThe cruise was very crowded and clearly RCCL was not prepared for the crowd. It was difficult to get a drink from most outside pool bars. The Windjammer food bordered on inedible and the staff was never around to get a drink, fill coffee cups, or just ask something, but rushing around to clear plates. Most activities could not be enjoyed because of the crowds and poor staffing. The activities staff were lackluster and unenthusiastic . Cabin staff took a long time to make up our cabins, and did not remember personal requests such as extra towels. I was told the company no longer gives out personal toiletries on my deck ( deck 8 balcony room and inside cabin ) but I made a fuss about the cabin not being made up, they did give me the toiletries. I was told the blow dryer (which was terribly weak) was given to those on my deck. Evidently RCCL has become very elitist because I couldn't even get a water bottle with my beverage package of beer and wine. With the purchase of 4 beverage packages, you think I could get water before we left the ship for excursions but this was not the case. We took a Greek Isle cruise for 8 days in July on the Splendor of the Seas and loved it. I hope RCCL improves because I am hesitant to book another cruise with them.
