Actually this was only a 2-dot cruise. But seen to the discounted price we, and most others, paid, it was a 5-dotter. In my eyes the ship did not look nice, neither outside, nor inside.
This 1:st november-week was warm and sunny each day. Because of wind (we were told, but perhaps not the truth) we had to embark in Venice instead of Trieste. So, nice bus-ride along the coast. Embarkation fast and simple.
Our cabin, standard balcony with restricted view (from lifeboats below) was about the same class as in HAL and RCCL. Only that the quilt and pillows were very cheap kinds. (non-ventilating.) I have had larger balconies. The sofa/extrabed was placed far from the window, and not comfortable. Thank God our excellent room-steward did not waste time on towel-animals. Instead we had our best-cleaned cabin hitherto.
I do not like balcony-cabins with a sofa placed inside the cabin. I want it by the window. And, further, these kind of sofas/extrabeds are not comfortable.
Nice reading light. A bit cramped balcony. This catergory has a bitrestricted view. But I think that was a good money-saver. Pillows, quilt of inferior non-ventilating quality
Took just a bike-tour 2x5 km eastwards along the sea. To a beach.
Nice old town inside walls, with no traffic. Many cruisers in limited area.
Found a place to swim between centre and ship. Had lunch uptown. Nice beside a park. Recommended as an alternative to excursion.
Been here many times. We went out to the november-deserted Lido-beach. A day-ticket with water-bus cost 20€. Train from ship to Plaza Romana 1,50€. Or you can walk.
The origin of a tourist trap. But I like it anyway.
