I was always leery of "Days at Sea" and discovered that I was correct. It's not for me and, fortunately, my husband agrees. They do have loads to do, every day, great lectures, some nice afternoon shows, but after a couple of days of this, it was enough. Really enjoyed the first week, with a great itinerary, 3 great private excursions (the only one that left a lot to be desired was the one we booked through Celebrity) but doubt if we will do this type of cruise again. Would definitely do a Mediterranean cruise that included roundtrip air. We had great service in MDR (Renata and Caitano), thought the food was fine, had a very nice sommelier too (Marija). Only MDR problem we had was the time. We booked Early Dining (preference of our travel companions) but our confirmation showed a time of 6:30. When we went to our first dinner, we were informed that time actually was 5:45 and that they would not hold our table (?) for more that 30 minutes. We never got there before 6:15 and it was not a problem. We might have tried Specialty Dining if quoted prices were reasonable but to find out halfway through the trip that you can negotiate the price was more annoying. Too many things were extra. This was our first Celebrity cruise. We've never cruised very much (mostly did land tours) and mostly have done Princess. We liked the buffet - yes, the food was usually the same but there were so many choices that it was possible to eat something different every day. Omelet chef at the buffet for breakfast got my omelet right every time (and I'm picky about my eggs) and Ersin, who took the egg orders was always smiling, learned my name early on. Night shows varied from great to awful. The only attempt at a comedian should never be allowed in front of an audience again. He was insulting besides being bad. Sorry they got rid of their piano bar, at least we found the Ensemble Lounge, which had reasonable music and allowed you to talk without screaming. We were in Concierge and I don't think it was worth the extra money. Afternoon appetizers were very skimpy, we liked going up to afternoon tea better, other perks were OK but nothing we really needed. We did have a very nice trip, thought Barcelona in particular was a great place, but 9 total Sea Days was just too much for us.
