Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

This was my fourth TransAtlantic in the past five years. After crossing from Sao Paulo to Lisbon on the Splendor of the Seas, I was looking forward to experiencing the "mega" ship. Our cabin was a balcony on the 8th floor which was perfect because we always eat in the specialty restaurants. We walked out our door, took a few steps and we were at Central Park On the first day, I purchased ten bottles of wine. The wine list had many of my Napa Valley favorites. We very much enjoyed the specialty restaurants. Quality of food was amazing. Chops was fabulous but we went on the second day... by the end of the trip, the quality had gone down. As for the ship itself... there were so many D & D+ onboard that a huge portion of the ship was blocked off to accommodate them. Other than the pool deck/buffet, there are no venues with ocean views. The Promenade Deck was packed with people just sitting in chairs to be out of the weather. Except for the very small game room, there wasn't anywhere but the Diamond Club to play games. There are no tables for cocktails by the pool. Despite the weather, my husband and I enjoyed the ship itself... however the behavior of the passengers was unbelievable. I have never seen so many passengers act entitled to cut in line or grown men physically push a woman he didn't know, in order to get a better seat... it happened twice so we decided not to attend any more shows. We were fortunate to have a balcony, so we spent quite a bit of time enjoying it. On the second day, we booked two future cruises... after seeing the way passengers spouted off about their days at sea and the rudeness, we had second thoughts. Hopefully, it will be a different experience...

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D7

We spent 12 days in this cabin and loved the location. The stairs were right outside our door but we never heard a peep from other guests. This is the deck with Central Park... we love to eat in the specialty restaurants so it was very convenient. We didn't have to mess with crowded elevators at mealtime. I would definitely stay in it again if given the chance.

Port Reviews

Malaga

Weather wasn't great... we were feeling lazy after two weeks journeying through Europe... so we didn't even get off the ship. We are leaving from Malaga on the Rhapsody in November so I'll rate it then.

Barcelona

I love this port. We spent three days exploring prior to the cruise. Found a great flat through Airbnb.
