The cruise ship was beautiful and the Viking staff knows how to take care of their passengers or should i say guests. The staff was very friendly and took the time to talk to you and get to know you. I have been on several Carnival cruises but they don't treat their passengers any where near as nice as Viking. One thing is Viking doesn't charge you for everything extra such as soda and wine. It's nice that it's included with your meal.
The tour selections had a variety of things to pick from and it was nice have a free tour option at each port. The only problem was a couple of our guides weren't that great. They knew their stuff but one was too old and didn't want to walk down a steep hill so we didn't see a section of the tour and there was no free time for us to do it on our own.
There are still a few kinks to work out on the ship but it's beautiful. They need to learn that Americans like their drinks cold and with ice. The food selection was great and the staff took great care of us. They even made a pizza especially for us.
The cabin was very nice and the bathroom was great. The only thing there was not enough drawer space or hangers. We even asked for 20 more hangers. You need to cut back on the hanging space and add more drawers and shelves for clothing.
We arrived early in Venice and did all of the tours on our own.
