I have been on 5 cruises including this one all on NCL either the Gem or the Dawn both great fun, this time I tried the Breakaway way too many people no room by the pool at least a 45 minute wait at the restuarants. I didn't like the fact of making reservations for everything you do ( so much for freestyle). I had nights with no towel animals. We went through extremely rough water one night to get to the private island to be told we couldnt go to the island because the water was too rough to use the tenders. Okay I understand safety but how about bringing the bbq and party to the ship instead of nothing. Nothing extra or special was done to compensate for our disappointment for not going to the island. This just made the buffet and restuarants even harder to get into. I never used the pool as I couldnt get even close. When I booked our reservation I let them know it was our anniversary and they said they would have a cake sent to our room and asked what night we would like it which I arranged for Tuesday night. Never got the cake I had to go to the customer service desk on Friday to get a card to take to one of the restaurants to get our cake. Everything extra to do on the ship was an extra charge. Latitudes brought no extra benefits to this cruise. I will said again with Norwegian but not on this ship. None of the crew were overly friendly or went above and beyond to make our cruise memorable.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BC

Cabin was fine. Seems like our normal stewart was not there it took till 3pm to make up our room and it was never turned down at night and no towel animals. Other than that the room was fine. They had problems with the tv stations so basically when we went to our room to relax there were no channels.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

I arrived at 11am and was able to check in right away and waited an hour before boarding.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Left the ship to do some on our own shopping, we got a shuttle bus very easily with return trips every 10-15 minutes.

Great Stirrup Cay

Can't rate this for our cruise because the water was too rough for us to take the tender boats to the island. I have been to the island before and it was always the best time of my trip, I loved the snorkling and party atmosphere.
