Selected a 15 day cruise to Hawaii leaving from San Francisco on the Grand Princess. There is 4-5 days prior to the islands or back to San Francisco. The Grand had multiple activities going on throughout the day. From lectures, movies, shows, or other Hawaian activities associated with the cruise. The staff was quite plesent and ran in to the captian multiple times on the cruise (Captain Wilson). We did skirt huricane Olif and the ship hit 28 foot waves for a couple of days.

Ports: Hawaii: Did the tour for the volcano national park, toured was rushed by the driver. Honolulu: We Went to the polynisian cultural center for the day. This was a long tour and be prepaired for a day long activity, it was a hot day and they were experiencing a hot day. In Nawiliwili we did the hollywood movie tour of the islands. This was the best tour of the islands. Saw all the locations of movies filmed in the islands, lunch was included also. Great tour. Lahaina the tenders bring you to the whaling village and it was a great, hot day just walking, shopping and eating on the island. This was a real nice day.

Cabin: Great location, P322, center of ship, deck 5 below casino. Usually did not hear any movement above and the casino was 24 hours. With the rough water, this turned out to be a great location because many of the people on the higher levels had a rocky ride and the barf bags where in all the bathrooms.

Cabin IA

Was a great location on a bumpy ride. Not much noise from the casino above. What we did hear was the ceiling panels and the cables behind moving in the roughf water. Bathroom adequate, larger shower then on the island. There was no table in this room, but a stuffed chair, would have been better having a desk type chair to move below counter. Did not feel much ship movement.

Port Reviews

San Francisco

It took awhile to board the ship. Flying into San Francisco was also a pretty long drive, suggest taking the transfer princess offers.

Hilo

Was rushed by the bus driver at the national park, we spent plenty of time at the macadamian factory though!

Honolulu

Too long of tour, i would recommend not doing this one on a ship excursion.

Kauai

Really recommend this tour! Had so much fun, it was a small tour and went all around the island. Some great stories along the way and the guide had very entertaining stories to tell.

Maui

Walked around once we got tendered in. Lots of shopping at that location.

Ensenada

Only had 2 hours at port, not worth taking a tour. Recommend disembarking last at this port and just walk aroung the port stores.
