  3. Britannia
Just back from transatlantic and 2 week cruise round the Caribbean on Britannia. Had a great time. The call at Tenerife on the way out was caused by a problem with the port in Madeira - not something P & O could have foreseen. The ship is very elegant, and, yes, the layout is different from the rest of the fleet - but the layout inside was well designed so the size of the ship is not too intimidating. Entertainment was of a high standard and the Dance instructors on both cruises were excellent. Madeleine Bell and the Morecombe and Wise acts in the Limelight Club were excellent. The Cookery Club was great fun and the food in the speciality restaurants was very good. The only criticisms really were lack of maintenance e.g. lift buttons, lighting on Lido deck - should be attended to- especially with the ship being so new. The most common complaint throughout the cruise was that no procedure was in place to manage the 'towel on sunbed' problem, even though there were frequent comments on this in the daily paper. Whilst there was a pianist in the Crows Nest every evening we never saw the piano in the Atrium being played - would have attracted more people there if a pianist was on hand. The positoning of lifts and stairs is different to the rest of the fleet, but once you get to know your way around it is fine. Yes lifts get busy at peak times - again this isn't unique to Britannia. Overall, a great holiday and will defintely be checking out future itineraries planned for Britannia.
