Cruise on the Escape, first full week cruise of the new ship. Food was very disappointing except for dinner at Le Bistro (very good). Service was poor, ate twice in O'Sheehan's, first time had to wait 1 hour for food to arrive, second time waitress never even asked for our drink order until after food was served, (with no separate plates for fajitas). And had to ask her to take the drink order. After 7 days never got into Margaritaville, 1 1/2 hr wait lines and it's only open between 11-4pm. Freestyle dining, however, several locations close down and are unavailable for dinner. Ate twice in Savor (one of main dining rooms) waiter had no knowledge of the items on the menu. A side note, majority of the crew were from other NCL ships, so they were experienced).
Ship shook and rolled like crazy, waking us several times during the night, not sure if this was a problem with the ship itself. Seas were moderate with 8 ft waves at times. But have never been on a ship that rolled and shook that much. Cruised on the Allure 2 yrs ago and it was fine.
Took tour on Tortola, port is under construction, guess they are gearing up for cruise ships, not much in the immediate walking area. Decide to take a tour of the island from one of the tour groups located on the dock. We were given the price of $16 per person. About half way through the tour the driver announces he will be collecting the fee at the next stop. Then tells us its $20 per person, no big problem but should have told us in advance.
Waked around visiting shops, and ate in Senor Frogs
Port under construction, not much in the immediate area, pretty island, first time there.
