Just got back from a 7 day cruise on the Norweigan Jade which was it's first time out of Houston, Texas. I went with 9 other travelers and we all rate the service on this cruise as "POOR." This was my third cruise on Norweigan and while the other two were very good, this didn't measure up when it comes to service. All the service was poor...beverage, food and daily room service. Beverage service averaged 10 - 15 minute waits at the bars; more than that if you wanted deck/beverage taker service. Food service took almost as long to get waited on. While the complaints were passed to upper management...most just said, "we know we have a problem...not enough waiters/staff...didn't plan on the number of drinks ordered...etc. Nothing changed from day 1 to day 7.
I will state that most food was good to excellent when it finally came...it just didn't make up for the poor service. In addition, as a Latitude member, I only saw/heard the Ship Captain at the "frequent travelers reception. He never spoke to us over the ships intercom system...first cruise of my 8 prior cruises that this has happened. Also, the wait time for in-processing touch more than 2 hours...something they said was due to a "system" problem. One positive comment is the Port of Houston is an excellent port to use; convenient parking, professional staff, and excellent and fast debarkation. If this had been my first cruise...it would probably have been my last cruise. I am not sure if I will cruise Norweigan again. I sincerely hope Norweigan fixes their Jade issues.
Good shower; small toilet; clean but a little on the small size.
