Arrived in Ft. Lauderdale at approx. 1230 pm after catching a cruise connection bus in Orlando at 0800 am. This was a worthwhile way to come down.....no parking fees, gas expense, and dropped us off right at the luggage drop off. Had a fairly long wait to get on the ship, about 45 minutes, but was understandable as we got there shortly after the doors first opened. Cabin was ready when we took the elevator up. First port was Aruba after 2 days at sea. Toured to island for about 2 1/2 hours on a local tour van for $20 per head. Not bad... we had been to Aruba before and took a great 4 x 4 along the north shore, natural bridge (now collapsed( then to palm Island by ferry for a lunch buffet and snorkeling. Next day in Bonaire where we walked about 200 yards to catch a water taxi to Klein Island, where we snorkeled for a couple hours. $20 per head for the water taxi, we brought our own snorkel gear. Swam with a school of Yellowtail Snappers, Pompano, Chub, Parrot Fish and lots of other tropical fish. Got sand blasted on the beach as it was very windy. water temp. was approx 79. Next day in Granada we caught a local tour van for $20 per head for a 3 hour tour of the island. Went to the top to see a former volcano crater that is now a lake, other scenic areas. Refreshing to see painted on a couple walls around the island "Thank you USA for our freedom". We liberated them from the Russians/Cubans influence in 1986 for those not familiar. Next day in Dominica we took a local tour bus to Tafalgar Falls....very pretty. Also to sulfur springs and by a botanical garden. Approx.$20 per head for 2 1/2 hours. St Thomas was next for some shopping and a aerial tram to the top of the hill overlooking the bay. Great view, food was very average at the restaurant on the top. Final stop was Princess Cays. It was overcast and very windy that day with the water temp 71. Too cool for us Florida people. The island was pretty and it appeared enough beach chairs for everyone. The ship itself was in very good shape. With 7 previous cruise between Carnival and Royal Caribbean, we had something to compare. I didn't feel the food was as good. I like to drink alot of beverages normally (fruit punch, apple juice, etc.) Not available on Princess. Water, age iced tea only. I was used to keeping track of my bill and ordering excursions on the room TV's, but this is not an option on Princess. Watched the Super Bowl on the outside big screen by the pool, which was nice. Nice workout room at the front of the ship, terribly maintained 9 hole putt-putt course. Princess seemed to try to nickel and dime you for everything; Cost for the "Sanctuary, ice cream, any extras. The room was set up to maximize space, a little bit larger balcony, closet area, and refrigerator. Going on another Princess cruise in April for 14 days, because of the itinerary, not the cruise line
