We've put off this cruise for about 20 years...Carnival was for 20- 30 yos and we been there, done that...but a price of about $100 per day and good comments from friends caused us to do it...we left from San Diego...arrived at the pier about 11:30 AM and was at the Lido deck buffet in 30 minutes...

The ship is beautiful...check out all the details...if a princess or celebrity ship is a marriott, this is vegas....got an extended balcony near the bow...first, as nice as the cabin is, the extended balcony is still smallish..just two chairs and one small table...altho I understand the ship is going into drydock next month, it's very well maintained as was our cabin..but, the beds are absolutely torture..Carnival..you got your money's worth out of them..THROW THEM OUT!! The ship makes sense. Decks 2 and 3 have the public rooms running from aft to bow..no need to go up a deck to avoid the kitchen when go down a deck to enter a dining room..the kitchen is below the dining room.

Deck 9 has the pools and the buffet..now this is a good news/bad news deal. the good is that the buffet is very spacious..actually 6 different stations and lots of seats...which means there are few seats near the pool. The gym is hot..you'll lose weight without moving is how hot it is....The theater is beautiful but plan to get there early to get a seat...now the bad news..it's not worth getting there early..the entertainment, except for the lead male singer, was awful..not just our opinion, but that of almost everyone we met...same in the lounges..except" the Karaoke staff member rocks!! he could have his own show..The server in the piano bar is awesometell her to forget the drinks which are very pricey, and tell her to to sign for ya.....and that's the extent of the entertainment..bring a good book....the book was very good in the dining room, except that they don't do salad as a course, it might be an appetizer unless you'd get tired of Caesar salad each night.
