This was our 15th cruise & 5th with Royal Caribbean. We thought the last time standards had dropped & this cruise confirmed that. The ship is a bit "tired" but our cabin was kept very clean. The only beverage in the cabin was green tea, we asked for coffee but was told it wasn't available so had to take tea bags from the Windjammer. Our last cruise was in the Mediterranean & we were told then that tea was served in Europe & coffee in the Caribbean & America. The passengers consisted of mostly Australians, Asian & British passengers. There was a good variety of food in the Windjammer however the main Dining Room was abysmal if you didn't like Asian you had very little choice.
There was a full section of Indian food on the menu & most of the other options had some Asian ingredients, our table was all British & one night the waiter actually apologised for the menu saying he couldn't recommend anything to us, he was quite upset. The ice show was excellent but it was hard to know what passengers the rest of the entertainment was catering for. A great deal of passengers were very upset on the 11th November. It was in the nightly paper that a small self led service would take place in Ellingtons , when we arrived there was a towel arranging class taking place, we had to find a small room ourselves. Although it was advertised as self led we felt it disgraceful even a junior officer couldn't have been present. We know cruise companies want you to go on organised trips but there was no information about passengers going ashore on their own which other cruise lines do. This was a very disappointing cruise & I don't think I have ever heard so many complaints. We will definitely think very carefully before going RCL again
The cabin was kept very clean by the steward & was comfortable
