We celebrated our honeymoon with a cruise on the Breakaway. This was our first time sailing with Norwegian. Our previous 4 cruises had been with Carnival. I was excited to have the ultimate beverage package included for free. I also purchased the dining package for our trip.

Embarkation: We arrived in Manhattan around 10am, so we'd be able to be part of the first groups of people boarding. One thing that surprised me was that we had two bags we were carrying on with us. On any of our carnival cruises, we carried those sized bags on, no problem. When we got to the terminal, they made us check them as well. Ultimately it was no big deal. I just wish I had known, I would have packed a few essentials in a backpack instead.

Check in at the counter was quick. We did have to wait about an hour before they started calling people to board, but we were there early, so that was fine. We were called a little after 11. Off we went. The first impressions of the ship were that it was very nice and very clean. I liked the dark but understated look, compared to the loud Carnival ships.

Cabin M9

Great location, one deck down from the pool and buffet. Close to elevators/stairs, but no noise, and no noise issues from above! Great sized bathroom.
