We booked single ocean view rooms aft on deck adjacent to terrace pool. Cruise cost double however having this great location and our own space was great. The crew gets an A+. The most friendly and accommodating of any Cruiseline experienced.

Dining was a big disappointment. All hot food was mostly cold and soggy surprisingly in all dining rooms. Be aware that main dining room seatings are just two times. Our request for 6:00pm and a table for two was not honored. In fact we were pre assigned to a table for ten. Unlike many of our friends who have cruised before, we are not cruising to make new friends and experience "what's your major, what's your minor conversations. Call me a snob , but it is my trip, too.

The Star Princess is not the newest ship, however, the decor is beautiful and the ship's interior is meticulusly maintained. Surprisingly, there were 285 out of about 2600 cruisers who were children. We never saw them except perhaps at the Horizon Court. Princess really took care of the little ones. Or, perhaps their wonderful parents have brought them up respecting adults. This little get-a-way is delightful. Cheaper than a one-way flight from Vancouver to LA. Appreciated the Princess organization culture throughout ship and especially during embarkation and disembarkation. I would love to have given the Star a "5" however, the cold and soggy food even in the specialty dining rooms is unacceptable.
