We were one of many who took the back to back on the Vision. This was not our first back to back so we have other cruises to compare our experience with Vision. We had to transfer cabins as they claim that the ship was fully booked and thus we could not remain in the same cabin. They assured us that transfer would be easy; leave everything on the hangers, just pack toiletries and everything in the drawers and they will do the rest of the transfer. It turned out that we had to help the cabin steward move our suitcases and hanged clothes to the next cabin as she was in a rush. Then our hangers full of clothes were not even placed in the closet; they were left piled on the bed. The Diamond dining area was a joke. We had to wait a long time to be seated and then wait again a long time to be served. The first day they assigned only one waiter to attend to 5 tables. Next day they added more tables but forgot to add more waiters. Food was very mediocre. They gave them all these fancy sounding names but a disappointment in taste. The crew entertainers were the best thing on this cruise. The Captain was very visible and quite a personable. The Concierge was terrific and most of the bartenders worked very hard. The waiters at the Windjammer were far better than the waiters in the main dining room.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

We have been to Rome several times so we decided to just stay in Civitaveccchia. A good walk to town where there are a lot of restaurants and good shopping.

Venice

Staying overnight in Venice was the best thing. We got to see Venice both during the day and at night when it got transformed into a romantic city.

Kotor

The Old city was very close to port so it was an easy walk. The walled city was great and if you were in great physical shape then you could climb the wall. It was like a mini wall compared to the Great Wall of China but quite as interesting.

Nice

Easy walk from the port. The restaurants had free Wi-Fi and shopping was delightful.
