Having cruised on the Majesty at xmas 2014 I vowed down never to cruise with Thomsons again but having heard many positive remarks about the Spirit we decided to give it a go and very pleased we were. The cruise director (Lewis) was the excellent having been promoted from assistant director on the Majesty. His rapport with the guests is very good. The main difference from the Majesty is the food quality, on the Spirit we could actually eat something in fact spoilt for choice and hot for a change, I even got to have my Xmas dinner albeit 10 months late. The ships overall decor is much better than the Majesty even though she is an older ship. Public places are well appointed and clean and the staff could not do enough for you.

Given the high profile of Thomsons and TUI they as a company need to invest in a newer fleet, the Discovery is already an ageing vessel that has been acquired an was infact docked along side us in Rhodes under its current name Splendour of the Seas (Royal Caribbean).

Overall a good cruise and has restored my faith in Thomson cruises.
