Had one of the worst starts to cruise with over 90 minutes waiting in various line ups for embarkation. So slow that they had to delay lifeboat drill as the line up was still very long at 3pm when normally everyone is onboard. Appears staff were still in training mode. No Princess staff outside of building, only Port Police. Lots of older people with clear handicaps were waiting in long lines. We encouraged older couple in front of us to go to front of line up as she made notified them she would be needing assistance - she was carrying an oxygen machine with her. There needs to be Princess people outside managing crowds to help direct people to correct line up. As a Ruby member, no special line ups not non-US line up - both of which we have had on other cruise lines to help speed up getting on the ship.

Once on, the ship was clean and in good condition. Atrium seem small for such a large ship. Had 6pm dinner seating after several cruises with anytime dining. We really enjoyed connecting with other travellers and felt this was one of our best decisions. We passed on the spa pass as the spa was small and only two steam rooms and 5 heated beds. Normally we take this but for 3 full days they wanted $120 for a couple. I travelled with my best friend and we decided to go outside to sun tan if sun came out. It was sunny only one of the three days unfortunately. Mexico day in Progresso was overcast, very humid and raining at times. Quite disappointing weather overall. We went to shows - dancing one was good. Comedy ones were 7/10. Staff seemed friendly and willing to help overall.

Food was very good in dining room so we didn't really feel pushed to go to Specialty Restaurants which we normally do at least once. Again, no special treats or recognition for loyalty member - ie. cocktail reception, treats in rooms - has this on last Norwegian as a past passenger. We found the pool music very loud so we sat in the chairs nearest the Sanctuary. The spa pool below is open to all guest and not just to the Sanctuary people. This was not well known and this pool was lovely and quiet. Perfect for a snooze when it wasn't raining.

Cabin Review

Cabin was compact and clean. My friends' bed was terrible and cabin attendant had to fix after 1st night. Totally sagged out but they thought they were swapping out mattresses the cruise before. Lots of closet space and hangers. Bathroom has crazy small shower with dreaded curtain. Balcony was great but humid weather meant inside mirrors would fog up as soon as we opened sliding glass door to balcony.
