The Food, Service and production shows were all excellent. All a lot of the production shows we had seen in the past. The itinerary was excellent which is why we went. We had never seen New Zealand or Australia before. We spent an additional two wonderful weeks in Australia, We have been to all the other ports before but explored each in a different way.
The cruise director, Tim, never connected with us. He had mainly Australian Acts on for what was mainly a US Audience. Not only that there were several instances where the time from the princess patter was changed and we were not notified. My big beef is missing the park ranger speak.
We did enjoy the movies and trivia contests. The lecturers on board were obviously not vetted by princess.
Considered a Mid Category on the Baha Deck. Located after the fire doors which are always left open just before the lower category rooms. Entrance Door was smaller then other standard doors. Not a problem until my wife hurt her leg and had to get a folding wheel chair through. The wheel chair even when folded, barely fit through. All the other doors were significantly wider. I chose this room because it supposedly had cabins above and below. However, when they filled the pool after draining it, there was loud compressor noises for several hours. I I assumed that the room above was actually not a state room, but a compressor room. I would not recommend this room for these reasons.
Debarking Point with walking distance of the Sydney Opera House which just so happened to have there Open House on the day we landed, sop we took that in. Also
went to the Botanical Gardens Across the Street.
We stored our bags at the Central YHA in Sydney. Huge Lockers are upstairs to the right and are inexpensive.
Took tour with Patrick's Tour. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars was that it was a rough day at sea. The Tour Operator should let the people decide to go or not. But we were never told that. The Polynesian Lieu was the highlight of the trip. The lunch was EXCELLENT and plentiful. There was slight confusion as where to go for morning pickup.
Went around the island with William Leetag in the morning. William is very knowledgeable and a very good guide. A larger then life figure. In the afternoon we booked an Island Tour with e-tahiti on 4 wheel drive vehicles. That was very good to. The scenary was very beautiful allowing for many photo stops. It basically is a well maintained dirt road as utility vehicles have to pass by.
Having been to Honolulu before we looked at all the tours Princess Offered. Did not see anything hat we desired. So I looked on the internet and found a tour through ShoreExcursion.com that goes completely around the Island and provides lunch. The food was good but not great but the Tour more then made up for it !
