First time on Princess cruise but our 11th overall. We love Princess. Best food on any cruise we have been on. Sailed Royal, Carnival and NCL and blows them all way food wise. Best buffet at sea. MDR was great. Steakhouse was good but Carnival steakhouse is a tad better. NCL worst food overall.

The Regal is a classy beautiful ship. Love the different pool areas and all the Pub and dining venues. The one thing that was missing was a sports pub. Entertainment was average. The showroom shows were adequate but this is one area where Princess and Carnival are way behind Royal and NCL. The entertainment in the plaza area was very good. Constantly changing and the house band was great. Activities were good. A wide variety of offerings. I would get rid of Princess Live Studio. Nothing really interesting happening at Princess live. Would rip that out and put in a sports bar. Love the Crooners happy hour.

We had a balcony cabin and we enjoyed it. Love that it has sliding door. Carnival has regular door and takes up space. We were worried this would be an old fogie cruise. While the demographic was older the passengers were a lot of fun and stayed up late and partied a bit. Was worried because heard of a strict dress code in dining room. But saw plenty of guys wearing jeans on non formal nites. No shorts tho. People looked great on formal nite. So wasn''t as stuffy as we thought it may be.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

NYC gotta love it.

St. Thomas

Took can to Meghan's Bay. Nice beach but wouldn't go there with 3 or more ships in port. Can get very crowded.

Antigua

Antigua take the island bus for $1.50 pp and bypass all the pushy cabbies. 4 of us took bus to Jolly Beach. Locals were friends and it only cost $3 round trip. Bus drops you off right near the beach. Darkwood beach is even easier to get to. Walk right off the bus onto the beach.

Aruba

Took the city bus to Palm Beach. $4 round trip. Rented lounger and float for only $5 pp. Very nice beach. Beers and drink are pricey in Aruba.
