We started our trip a day early in Venice to explore the city, staying at the Abbazia Deluxe hotel (which was GREAT!!). We decided to walk to the cruise port from our hotel as we were told it was only a 20 minute walk. Unfortunately, we got turned around and ended up at the wrong cruise terminal. Lucky for us, there was a vaporetto stop that took us to the correct port location with only an additional 10 minute walk.
Once at the cruise terminal, there were plenty of signs and people assisting to get us to the correct location, get our bags checked in, and directed to the check in counter. The check in process was quick and very smooth. We only had to wait about 30 minutes after checking in to board the ship, which went without any issues or delays. We were in our cabin in about 10 minutes.
The ship itself is easy to navigate through and the signage is great to help you if you are turned around. The staff was always very happy to assist with directions and questions as needed. Public areas appeared to be clean and in great condition with a few minor exceptions. There were a few areas where repairs were taking place but they did not detract of the experience or service.
The cabin was GREAT! Exceptionally clean and spacious. I prefer aft facing balcony for the great views and this cabin did not disappoint. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is large with separate shower tub and water closet areas making it easy for multiple people use it at the same time.
The only negative about this cabin location is that it is located just below the buffet dining outdoor area. You can expect to hear noise from chairs being dragged around during the times the dining area is open and early in the morning when the crew is cleaning.
Our cabin stewart was great! He was able to address any issue or need we had quickly and would always follow up to make sure we were satisfied.
Venice is a magical place. There is so much to see, experience, and learn in this city. I recommend you take at least one narrated walking tour to learn some of less talked about history of this great city
We opted for a Hop on Hop off bus tour as it was redially available at the cruise port and very reasonably priced. This allowed us to make a few stops to explore on foot as well. Our favorite stop was Mdina.
We chose a Hop on Hop Off bus tour at this location to maximize our time and see as much of the port as possible.
