For the price of the cruise, we expected to be "wowed", but only had one such experience, sailing into Budapest at night.

We also expected to be treated as adults about the likelihood of low river water interrupting our cruise. We had called Viking twice before our departure from the States and were told we had nothing to worry about -- an outright lie, we were to learn once onboard the ship and were informed of the likelihood of having to switch ships. When we arrived in Budapest, one of the local Viking reps informed us that we were the first ship in three weeks to be able to sail in, further evidence of the misinformation we were given on the telephone prior to our departure to Europe.

The food was good, not outstanding, except for the final dinner. Service in the dining rooms was inconsistent. Large groups were treated preferentially, including having tables "saved" for them by wait staff, in spite of Viking's policy of open seating.
