My wife and I chose this cruise in August 2015 - as a getaway cruise to celebrate our upcoming 28th wedding anniversary. It is a choice we will always cherish - and we believe we made a right choice! This was our 3rd cruise - and we hope to be on other cruises too.

My mother was an avid cruiser - taking approximately 20 cruises during her lifetime with her first being on Princess Cruises in 1970's. It was she who introduced me to cruising. And now, I am taking my wife on a cruise every 2-3 years, while we are physically able to do so.

It was on October 14, we flew from Portland Oregon to Vancouver BC. It was a smooth flight that arrived on-time. Upon clearing immigration and customs, we turned our baggage over to Princess Cruises at the airport. A short while later, we were on a bus on our way to the cruise terminal. As we rolled into the cruise terminal lot, our hearts starting beating faster as our excitement wound-up. (We were not disappointed.) We exited the bus and were told to go into the cruise embarkation. We cleared SECURITY, then US CUSTOMS & IMMIGRATION, then check-in for our cruise. We waited about 20-minutes to board the cruise ship. we did so... and headed to our cabin - an aft-facing porthole oceanview cabin on the Aloha Deck. Everything went very smoothly. We then went a short walk to the buffet for a quick lunch and then we strolled around deck. At 3:30pm, our first luggage arrived at our cabin. By 4:30pm, the remainder of our luggage arrived at our cabin.

Cabin Review

Oceanview

Cabin OF

The cabin was very well laid-out. It was comfortable for the two of us. Gave us a stunning view of the ocean during the day. The cabin's bathroom we wish was larger but that's the only negative about the layout.

The cabin steward was very good. He was responsible for 17 cabins, which I think is too many. He and I had an argument once during the 15 night cruise. (As we were leaving our cabin one afternoon on day-11 (I had developed a nasty cough & runny nose), our paths crossed his path and I mentioned to him we were out of facial tissue, thinking the information might be helpful to him. The tongue-lashing I got back from him was not expected. I did not report this.) We asked for ice nightly but got it just sporadically. But every morning and night he made-up our cabin very nicely; our cabin was kept clean. We appreciate the work our cabin steward did - and his effort.
