NEGATIVES
(1) Embarkation: Almost a three hour wait in line with a 1000+ other passengers crammed tightly together waiting to register was the worst possible scenario for beginning a vacation.
(2) Disembarkation: The only elevators going to the 3rd deck for disembarkation were locked off from all but decks 3 and 5. Eventually I and others took different elevators to deck 5 and walked down stairs to deck 3 carrying all luggage. Instead of leaving the ship with fond memories fresh in our mind, we left with a sour taste because of their rampant disorganization.
The cabin was in excellent condition with all of the amenities we desired. The bed was hard (just the way we like it) and incredibly comfortable. I must note that sheets were put on our bed with a medium-size hole in one of them however. Our steward kept the room spotless at all times. I would suggest that the ship reduce the amount of beverages in the refrigerator that were for sale; it was packed solid. If I were to book another cruise on the Sun, I would definitely request the same cabin again.
Port embarkation was understaffed and poorly organized.
Perhaps it is time for cruise lines to find a substitute port for Acapulco. It is nothing like it's image from its glory of yesteryears.
A small city somewhat rustic in nature that is welcoming and beautiful. We enjoyed meeting a few of its residents.
A beautiful city with friendly people and much to see and enjoy.
Another beautiful city with friendly people and much to see and do.
Pure desert climate and a major change in geography from the previous ports. This city is tourism-based, clean and friendly. Ignore the hawkers of everything from tours to fishing to shopping and enjoy the city.
